How The Process Works

Free Evaluation

We listen to what happened, review the timeline with you, and tell you honestly whether the facts point to malpractice. It costs nothing, and there's no obligation.

Meet Your Attorney

You work directly with our trial lawyers — the attorneys named on this page — not a call center. We gather your medical records and have independent physicians review the care you received.

Build Your Case

Maryland requires malpractice claims to be supported before they're filed. We handle that entire process — records, qualified physician opinions, and filings — and we front the case costs.

Negotiation or Litigation

Most cases settle — but hospitals pay differently when they know your lawyers will try the case. We prepare every claim for a Maryland courtroom, and we've taken them all the way to verdict.

Questions About Medical Malpractice in Maryland?

After a serious medical injury, it can be difficult to know whether the outcome was unavoidable or caused by negligence. These answers address some of the most common questions Maryland patients and families ask about medical malpractice claims. Every situation is different, and a free, confidential case review can help you better understand your options.

Do I have a medical malpractice case?

A bad outcome alone isn’t malpractice — the law requires showing that your care fell below accepted medical standards and that the failure caused your harm. That’s exactly what our review determines: we examine your records, consult independent medical experts, and tell you honestly whether the facts support a claim. The review is free, and ‘no’ is an answer we’ll give you straight.

Maryland law requires a medical malpractice claim to be supported by a qualified medical expert who can explain how the care fell below the accepted standard of care and how that failure caused the patient’s injury. Medical records, witness testimony, and expert opinions are then brought together to build a case the defense can’t unravel. Paul D’Amore spent eight years building these defenses for hospitals—which is precisely how he takes them apart now. Start with a free case review.

Maryland law requires an adult’s medical malpractice claim to be filed within the earlier of: five years from the time the injury was committed or three years from the date the injury was discovered. When the injured patient is a minor, these time periods do not begin running until the child turns 18. A parent’s separate claim may have an earlier deadline. Missing the applicable deadline can prevent a claim from being filed, contact us as soon as possible for a free case review.

Nothing up front. We work on contingency — no fee unless we win — and we advance the substantial costs of investigating and litigating your case. If there’s no recovery, you don’t owe us a fee. The consultation is free, so finding out where you stand costs you nothing.

It depends on your medical bills, lost income, future care needs, and your pain and suffering — and Maryland law places a cap on certain non-economic damages that changes by the year of injury. No honest lawyer can promise a number before reviewing your records. What we can do is evaluate your case free and give you a realistic range based on what we find.

Our Commitment To You.

The D'Amore Promise to Our Clients

A serious medical injury can affect every part of your life—your health, your ability to work, your family, and your future. At D’Amore Personal Injury Law, we take the time to understand not only what happened, but how the harm has changed the life you and your family expected to have.

For every case we accept, we bring the experience, resources, and determination needed to investigate the medical evidence and pursue accountability. We prepare carefully, consult qualified medical experts, and remain focused on securing an outcome that addresses our client’s long-term needs.

Our promise is simple: we will put our clients first, treat them with compassion and respect, and fight for them with the same commitment we would want for a member of our own family.
